Solidarity - my just-turned-4-year-old has been in trouble multiple times in the last month for hitting and kicking his buddies at the childminder. When told it hurts people he said, “But in films, when people get punched they get back up!” Gulp.
We usually make an effort not to show him things with lots of hitting or beating up, but we did let him watch Home Alone at Christmas so that might be why?? Mostly he watches Octonauts, which is pretty gentle.
Anyway, it’s yet another new parenting thing to enjoy!
Absolutely, Ren that sound so familiar to us too. They were right pickles watching minions and little spiderman things like that and it’s not hugely violent but I guess their understanding of it is limited.
Thank you! I do remember when my son was around 2 my husband took him to see minions and the first thing he did when he got home was hit me 🤣 When things marketed at kids encourage violence your parenting doesn’t stand a chance!
In my experience boys have a different energy to girls, but both genders can be little terrors. I feel like the toilet paper thing AND the head bonk could happen to absolutely anyone, too!
That’s an interesting thought. I feel like it’s the running around at 6pm that is the kind of energy I don’t enjoy and that’s what we have 😂 but we love them for their individual personalities as well of course 😂
The old how much toilet paper can at toilet take experiment. A classic.
Ha ha thanks for reading, Kathryn.
